Wardrobe Happy Hour, a concept founded by globe-trotting former event executive and self-confessed fashion addict Clair McCarthy, has opened its inaugural store, HACKNEY120, in Shoreditch. Located at 120 Hackney Road, London E2 7QL, the new space is positioned as the UK’s latest must-visit for sartorial fans. Clair McCarthy founded Wardrobe Happy Hour as a curated playground of eclectic, preloved designer pieces, with every hand-picked garment selected for its story, character, and edge. The store aims to be a space where clients can shop, rent, consign, or simply connect with a like-minded community of style-setters.

HACKNEY120 features key pieces from legendary avant-garde designers. The roster includes fashion giants such as Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Jean Paul Gaultier, Issey Miyake, Maison Martin Margiela, and Helmut Lang. It also supports up-and-coming designers like Filippo Grandulli, Alessandra Marchi, and Niels Peeraer. Clair McCarthy emphasized the store’s ethos, stating: “Wardrobe Happy Hour is where fashion meets freedom. It’s about dressing differently, embracing the unexpected, and owning your individuality”.

Much more than just a store, HACKNEY120 is also an immersive space dedicated to the arts. It features a bespoke installation by visual artist Francesco Colucci, who creates bold, sculptural ensembles from donated garments and found objects, proving that sustainability can be spectacular. The space plans to continue collaborating with both local and international artists to spotlight their talent. HACKNEY120 offers several key services: retail of statement pieces, hire options for photoshoots and film projects, consignment for refreshing wardrobes, and in-store curation with personal style advice from Clair and her team. The store promises more than just fashion; it offers an unforgettable experience for anyone hunting for a statement piece or inspiration for their next creative project.
