Molly Mae, who was already a social media superstar before joining the ITV dating show, has been chastised for her comments on a YouTube channel.
The 22-year-old, who is one of the UK’s most popular Instagram users, was grilled on several elements of her life, including her relationship with Tommy Fury, the Love Island participant with whom she left the villa and has been dating since. She also talked about a recent incident in which valuables were stolen.
However, a segment on hustling culture and entrepreneurship raised many people’s feathers.
“You have one life, it’s up to you what you do with it,” Mae said Barlett, citing the common adage that “Beyonce has the same 24 hours as us” as motivation to just get things done. I’ve put in a lot of effort to get to where I am now.”
Mae acknowledged that she has faced criticism in the past for her attitude, but defended herself by saying, “Technically, that is right; we do have the same 24 hours in a day. “Speaking on Steven Barlett’s Diary of a CEO show, Mae explained how she became creative director of clothing brand PrettyLittleThing.
Many others pointed out that while we do have the same number of hours in a day, our opportunities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and general positions in life differ from millionaire Mae’s.
Many people pointed out on Twitter that Mae seemed to be advocating meritocracy clichés, demonstrating that the playing field isn’t level for everyone.
Kim Kardashian Has Done A Molly Mae, And Everyone Is Talking About It.
“It appears that no one wants to work these days,” Kim says.
Remember when Molly-Mae enraged the whole Twittersphere and beyond with her remark that we all had “the same 24 hours in a day,” oblivious to how our chances, socioeconomic backgrounds, and overall life positions differ?
Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, on the other hand, were apparently not watching the Diary of a CEO podcast interview because they’ve done the same thing.
Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and Kris spoke to Variety about their love for hustle culture and how they “worked [their] asses off.” Their advice for their followers, however, struck a sour note with everyone, as Kim openly imparted her pearls of wisdom.
“I have the best business advice for women,” she remarked. “Wake up and work your f*****g ass.” Nobody appears to want to work these days.” You need to be surrounded by individuals who want to work and create a positive work atmosphere where people enjoy what they do. You only have one life; don’t work in a poisonous workplace, and show up and perform your job.”
Doesn’t it seem so simple? But, no, that’s not quite right. Individuals working in garment factories for poor wages (hmm, Molly Mae’s PLT has been heavily accused of this), disabled people navigating an ableist world, and those in poverty can’t simply enjoy what they do and work their way up to great success. Ordinary folks who aren’t millionaires with rich deals and sponsorships, on the other hand, had a lot to say.
Many people remarked on the irony of Kourtney agreeing with Kim, who had earlier stated that she did not want to work.
