Whilst their individual origins trace back to the small cold towns of Sweden, Pippa Marias found themselves and each other through a chance flat share in North London a few years back.

The influence of their Nordic roots, fused with the energy and intensity of North London is clear for all to appreciate. It comes as no surprise that Pippa Marias eat sleep and breathe their music as they share a flat together which also encompasses their own studio.

Pippa Marias are a group of very close friends, as Tobias explains: "Most of the bands you see and meet aren’t even friends or haven’t got anything in common. On top of that, the whole X-factor mentality is so widely spread, bands are put together by producers etc. and I think many people are in it for the wrong reasons. We’ve got a ‘do it yourself’ mentality and we do it because we love it."

With a constantly growing fanbase, the band is making headway in London and the guys have already played Venues from the intimacy of The Barfly, to the grandeur of KOKO, as well as having 'cut their festival teeth' with main stage performances at 'Freeze' and 'Broadmaster Festival'.

Pippa Marias debut single 'Shoot Me Down', which was released on 11.11.11,
went straight into the Swedish iTunes download chats at #19 in
the first week of it's release and it's recieving plenty of airplay in the UK. Tobias says, "‘Shoot Me Down’ represents what we’re about and if people like this one, then they’ll love the rest of our songs as well."
